Method
- Season steak with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak 2–3 minutes per side.
- Remove steak; sauté onions and garlic until softened.
- Add beef broth and return steak to pan.
- Oven: Cover and bake at 325°F (163°C) for 1–1.5 hours.
- Stovetop: Simmer covered on low for 1–1.5 hours.
- Crockpot: Cook on low for 6–8 hours with onions, garlic, and broth.
- Optional: Thicken gravy with cornstarch slurry before serving.
- Slice steak against the grain; serve with gravy.
